Fresh Start bridges surplus and need through an integrated food recovery and distribution system designed for efficiency, scale, and community choice.
Currently, we need volunteers at our food distribution center at 30 Northampton Street as well as at our distribution sites located in a variety of locations. You’ll be:
Recovering Food
Most of our food is donated and imperfect. We need to make sure that the food that ends up in the community is sorted and appropriate for consumption.
Preparing Food
We maintain low-cost donation sites and partner with organizations to deliver recovered food. We need to prepare bags and boxes in a variety of ways depending on the destination.
Distributing Food
We distribute food through low cost community pop-up markets and hospital/school sites:
Transit-adjacent sites serving commuters with convenient, affordable access.
Flexible models that meet families where they are.
We need people to help us load, unload, and distribute food to the community at different locations.
